Setup:
- Participants sit in a circle.
- In the center, place cards with various emotions (e.g., grief, sadness). Include blank cards for emotions not listed.
- Prepare another set of cards with different needs.
Steps:
- Begin with 3 deep breaths together to center the group.
- Participants stand and walk around to choose one emotion card that resonates with them.
- After everyone has one card, do a second round so each person ends with two emotion cards.
- Split into pairs and discuss why they chose their cards.
- Repeat the process with the need cards, selecting needs that correspond to their emotions.
- Discuss needs in pairs.
- Finish with a sharing circle where participants reflect on their experience.
Tips:
- Encourage honesty and active listening.
- Remind participants that it’s okay to choose blank cards and name emotions or needs not listed.
